Whether it’s shiplap or brick, accent walls adds great character to your home! Unfortunately, my home lack character all around. When I came across an ad for peel and stick wall planks, I just had to hop on board this trend wagon to style an awkward wall space behind the sectional sofa downstairs. Let me tell you, it is the best decision ever made! It gives my wall a pop of interest that I simply love! The best part. . .cuts and measurements are minimal!

Which One Did you Choose?
Well, thanks for asking! I decided on the Farmhouse White Originals Hardwood Plank. I love the light and dark contrast! Shipping was fast! Upon arrival and after opening the box, I’d noticed it looked a little yellow hue here and there in the mixture from an up close view, but after applying the planks to the wall I simply adore it. I just love it so much. Maybe it’s because it’s the only accent wall throughout our home!

Below are the tools and the process I used in creating my accent wall.
Getting It Done!
- Peel the backing of the plank and place the first piece on the top corner of the wall.
- Use the J-Roller
- Repeat the steps for the remaining planks.
Note: when it’s necessary you’ll use the measuring tape to measure and mark for cuts. Then, use the saw to cut.
Easy Peasy, lemon squeezy!
The Finished Product
Our beautiful rustic wood plank wall! It’s just right for our basement area, accenting the sectional very well. Hmm, I would love to add a console table behind our sectional to fill that wasted space and stop my little from throwing his toys back there, lol. Let’s add in a few huge soft, fluffy pillows for style and comfort for our sectional while I’m just dreaming up ideas. Do you have a dream accent wall you’re working to bring to life? I would love to hear all about it!
Stay healthy, be safe, and be creative!
Have a beautiful day!
